Strong schools build strong communities.

Elevate all students

Every child has the right to attend a school where they feel safe, welcomed, represented, understood, included, and encouraged to thrive.

As a parent and former classroom educator, I understand that students have unique needs. I have very personal experience with kids from IEPs to AP classes.

I believe in supporting our students in their diverse academic needs with innovative programs like the Catalyst Center and more flexibility to individualize education- adapting start times, blended schedules, strong arts, and athletics.

I also support families in meeting their basic needs through services like the Teen Centers, Pantry Pack programs, and free and reduced lunch programs. Students learn when their basic needs are met.

As a member of the Davis School Board, I will foster an environment where high-quality, individualized education is accessible to all students.

Empower family engagement

Research shows, time and time again, that family engagement is the single most important factor in student success. It transcends socioeconomic status, race, and ethnicity.

As a parent, I know that parenting school-age can be complicated. Keeping track of homework, PTA, AP classes, sports, CANVAS, 504s, and teacher emails for multiple students can be overwhelming.

As your school board member, I will encourage and empower family involvement in education. I will help our families learn how to best support their students’ individual needs. I will help YOU support YOUR STUDENT’S education.

Support our teachers

Teachers are our community members, our neighbors, and our friends. The school board should work to empower teachers to meet student’s individual needs while removing excess red tape and other obstacles to teaching.

Unlike my opponent, I am not part of any group that has been accused of antagonizing our teachers. I am trusted by our local teachers because I show up when they need me.

As your school board member, I will respect and empower teachers. I will treat teachers as professionals and experts in their fields.

Strengthen community

The economic stability of our community is dependent upon great schools. Property values are strengthened when districts provide well-equipped schools, including libraries, sports facilities, science labs, and technology resources. Communities benefit from schools that are diverse, inclusive, and meet the individual needs of all students.

As your school board member, I will listen to all constituents and make decisions based on information rather than preconceived extremist ideologies. I will be vigilant and respectful of the public funds the taxpayers give to public education.
